Aston Martin Mustang
« on: August 11, 2009, 12:44:52 PM »
Found this on another forum and thought I would post it up here and see what everyone here thinks about it.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Ford-Mustang-with-Aston_157206.htm

Supposedly the car was featured in one of the 5.0 magazines a little while back.

I've seen the car in the mag and read the article. And I think it is a fine motor...for an Aston. Not a Mustang.

Sorry, but crossbreeding has never been my thing.

I'm undecided on it since at the time Ford owned Aston, but I suppose if it was a race car I could understand someone doin whatever it takes to win, but still undecided about having it for a daily driver.  Probably makes a good show car too since it is unique.

I've got to admit, that is a sick looking engine.  but I'm with Special Fred, never been a big fan of crossbreeding.

on another note:  that dash was sweet!  again, not mustang traditional but it was still pretty cool.

while I've never been a cross over fan, this one and the viper swap (search project sniper on google) in the sn95 are two really well thought out and bad ass builds.  There's even one guy with this huge ass tank engine in a first gen body somewhere.

Hey, if you got the time, money and patience to do something unique like these builds, then cool.  I think it is neat, but probably not something I would personally do.

holy freaking crap.. that viper swap is STUPID involved.  and then to have the motor seize up on dyno day... of all the crap that could happen.. that must have sucked.

That's a local car that was built for the 2007 SEMA show.  I've seen it up close and can tell you that no magazine or video can do the car justice.  To truly appreciate the work that went into builidng this car, you have to see it for yourself.  As far as the British / American hybrid thing ... you have Carol Shelby to thank for that when he took an AC Bristol and shoehorned a SBF into it. He then did the same thing with the Sunbeam Alpine and created the Tiger.  Only this time, the swap is backwards ... sort of, kind of since Ford owned Aston Martin at the time.

Here's a couple pics I took at this years All Ford Show & Shine in June.
